My Story

Jay Stallons is an expert in nonclinical toxicology in the animal health and biotechnology industries. He has extensive experience in building and organizing data packages to support both registration and commercial partnering. Jay has led teams responsible for design and implementation of global safety strategy for companion animal products. He has experience in regulatory submissions for the US, Canada, EU, Australia, Japan, and Brazil.  He has also work in managing concurred protocols with FDA/CVM. He has worked in the gene therapy and therapeutics spaces in areas including dermatology, pain, and metabolic diseases, as well as parasiticides. He has placed, monitored, and reported non-GLP and GLP toxicology and Target Animal Safety Studies.

Jay held positions with Sangamo Therapeutics and Elanco Animal Health before starting his own consulting company.

Jay holds a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Louisville where he studied environmental mutagenesis and carcinogenesis. During a postdoctoral fellowship with Rick Schnellmann at the Medical University of South Carolina, Jay focused on development of animal models for kidney disease and screening drug candidates for safety and efficacy. He maintains active certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology.
