Chris Omohundro is an expert in the management of pharmaceutical and medical device supply chain operations, logistics, order fulfillment and commercial operations, including customer service. He has an excellent combination of superior customer focus and process competence. Throughout his 30-year career, he is a results-driven strategic thinker and problem solver working across all levels of organizations regionally and internationally. Chris is also extremely knowledgeable and experienced in distribution/distribution network optimization, third party logistics (3PL) sourcing and implementation, S&OP and SIOP planning, production forecasting, master resource planning, SAP implementation, continuous improvement, customer relations, contract negotiations and contract management.
Chris's comprehensive experience is in all parts of pharmaceutical operations including managing large customer service teams responsible for fulling over 500,000 orders annually, exceeding customer serviced key performance indicators (KPIs), managing upwards of $200M of inventory, creating stock status and risk assessment processes to minimize supply shortages and developing go-to-market, distribution and logistics strategies. The teams he has managed have been recognized for order pick accuracy (99.96%), on-time delivery (99.9%) and fill rates (99.8%). He is knowledgeable of FDA regulatory compliance requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and FDA’s current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP).
Chris has led numerous business-critical projects throughout his career at Novartis Animal Health; one of the largest ones included an international assignment in the United Kingdom/Ireland as Project Manager for a team of 35 technical and business focused employees to implement a new SAP version of the organization’s enterprise resource system with a $4M budget. He also led the Technical Operations Team for North America implementing the same SAP system, led the Customer Order Shipping Enhancement Team to increase customer delivery times while providing the company $1.1M in savings and was a key member of the Due Diligence Team for Novartis Animal Health, Canada in selecting logistics and transportation vendors and the Go to Market Team for Novartis Animal Health, US to develop and implement 3PL for a new logistics model and re-engineer the logistics strategy from a distribution network to total direct distribution.
The majority of Chris’s career has been in the pharmaceutical industry working at Novartis Animal Health which became Elanco Animal Health, A Division of Eli Lilly and Company in 2015. However, he has also spent a significant amount of time at RPS, Inc. (now Fed Ex Ground), GATX Logistics, Inc. and Zarn, Inc., a plastics manufacturer.
Chris was awarded the 2016 Value Added Award for Operational Excellence from Elanco Animal Health and the 2007 Summit of Excellence Award from Novartis Animal Health.
Chris Omohundro holds Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University and Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
